CULTIVATE COUNSELING

Cultivation is an intentional practice, one that channels the energy of purpose. We can cultivate nearly anything in our lives depending on where we can place our attention and how we direct out intentions. To cultivate is to tend, nurture, develop, enrich, encourage, nourish, cherish, refine, and strengthen. Just as the care we give to flowers or vegetables determines their vitality, the care we offer to our inner lives shapes what grows within us. What we choose to nourish with our attention, in turn, nourishes us.

About

About Cultivate Counseling

As a private practice based in Indianapolis, Indiana, I provide individual counseling services for adults (18+). I am a licensed mental health counselor - LMHC (Indiana license #: 39005519A). I graduated from IU Bloomington's Mental Health Counseling master's program in 2022. For the past 12 years, I have worked with individuals of varying ages and abilities, mainly in the fields of education and counseling.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, and neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism, and high sensitivity). I am an EMDR-trained and trauma-informed practitioner. My foundational goal is to create a warm and nonjudgemental space where clients can deeply explore their thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and identities in order to work towards personal growth and overall well-being.

Treatment

Specialty Areas:

Anxiety

Anxiety is a natural response to stress, but when it becomes constant or overwhelming, it can disrupt daily life. I offer a compassionate space to start to identify your symptoms of anxiety, develop coping strategies, and restore a sense of calm and control.

Neurodivergence
Depression

Depression can cause persistent sadness, low energy, and loss of interest in things once enjoyed. I provide support for clients to identify underlying causes, challenge negative thought patterns, and reconnect with a sense of hope and purpose.

Neurodivergence Cont'd
Trauma

Trauma can result from distressing experiences that overwhelm a person's sense of safety or control, often leaving lasting emotional and/or physical effects. I provide a safe and empathetic space to process trauma and move towards healing and recovery. I am EMDR trained and find this to be an effective and evidence-based approach for treating trauma.

Relationships

It is estimated that 15-20% of the world's population is neurodivergent. Neurodivergence is not a disorder but refers to natural variations in the way people think, learn, and experience the world - essentially differently wired brains. ADHD, Autism, and high sensitivity are all types of neurodivergence.

I am passionate about helping neurodivergent individuals understand their unique qualities, strengthen self-acceptance, and bolster coping skills and resilience to live in a world that was not built for those who think and process in unique ways.

Healthy relationships (whether with a partner, family member or friend) are essential for overall well-being. During counseling sessions, I help individuals navigate through relationship challenges, improve communication, and foster stronger, more fulfilling connections.
